Marshall District Library receives grant from Community Foundation
In honor of October, Family History Month, the Marshall District Library is proud to announce the official unveiling of our online newspaper database. Historic Marshall newspapers from 1838 through 1930 are currently available at the library on the Marshall District Library's website at www.marshalldistrictlibrary.org. Persons can access this link at the library for free or outside the library for a fee, $100 per year or $14 per month.
In June 2006, the Board of Trustees and the Youth Advisory Council of the Marshall Community Foundation presented the Marshall District Library with a grant to assist with digitization of the historic Marshall newspapers. The Marshall Community Foundation's mission is to help make the Marshall area an even better place to live, work and raise a family. They do this by attracting permanently endowed funds from a wide range of donors serving as a conduit for special projects, distributing grants in support of innovative programs, while always being mindful to carry out the intention of donors.
