Local foundation nets top honors | CJOnline.com
The Council on Foundations, a national professional association in Washington, D.C., awarded the Topeka Community Foundation its top honor.
Steve Gunderson, president and chief executive officer of the Council on Foundations, said the designation is similar to the Good Housekeeping Seal for community foundations. The council said the Topeka Community Foundation met its highest philanthropic standards for operational quality, integrity and accountability.
The foundations are required to document their policies for donor services, investments, grant making and administration through the National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations Program, which aims to provide quality assurance to donors.
