Foundation to present grants to non-profits today

The Keokuk Area Community Foundation, serving Hancock County in Illinois, Lee County in Iowa and Clark County in Missouri, will present its 2011 grant awards to 14 non-profit organizations at a luncheon today at the Keokuk Country Club.
Recipients for 2011 are:
From Lee County, Gods Way Christian Center, The Grand Theatre, Hoerner YMCA (Keokuk), Keokuk Area Hospital, Keokuk Fine Arts Council, Keokuk Catholic Schools, Keokuk Public Library, Main Street Keokuk, Mississippi Power 100, Montrose River Front, Three Rivers Conservation Foundation, Tri-State Coalition and Tri-State Family Services.
From Hancock County: Hancock Health and Wellness Coalition and West Hancock Canine.
The grants fund a variety of projects including sponsorship of the concert presented by Simon Estes for the Keokuk Fine Arts Council, a new Hospira PCA pump at Keokuk Area Hospital, Spanish curriculum for the Catholic Schools, a stage curtain at the Grand Theatre and computers and software for the Keokuk Public Library and new doors at the YMCA.
Since 2005, the foundation has awarded more than $326,000 in grants to 50 non-profit organizations, schools and charities in the Tri-State Area.
Friends and donors of the foundation also will receive an annual report of the foundation for 2011, which recently exceeded more than $1 million in endowments and donor advised funds.
The Keokuk Area Community Foundation Board will host the luncheon.
