Jeffcoat Memorial Foundation donates $10,000 for the Vision Therapy program
Optometric vision therapy is physical therapy for the eyes and brain that is individualized and provided under the supervision of an optometrist.
Thanks to the Vision Therapy Program, I can see great, said Lois Fitzwater. All as a result of a successful Vision Therapy experience.
The Program is making a difference, said Hank Royer, director, Jeffcoat Memorial Foundation. Of all the worthy programs and organizations that the Jeffcoat Memorial Foundation contributes to, the Vision Therapy Program is probably the most gratifying as it permanently changes lives.
The Community Foundation of Dickinson County provides the back office support for the Vision Therapy Program of USD 435. The Jeffcoat Memorial Foundation, a local private foundation, provides the funding for grants, the Community Foundation provides the staff to administer the grant program and the school district provides staff to identify students who could benefit from the therapy, communicate with parents and monitor program outcomes, said Kristine Meyer, president of the Community Foundation.
