Franke Foundation announces spring grants

The Robert & Eleanor Franke Charitable Foundation has announced its spring 2017 grant recipients.

COULEECAP received its sixth grant of $25,000, which will be used to fund services for the homeless and efforts to prevent homelessness.

The Family and Childrenas Center was awarded $20,000 for the Healthy Families program.

Friends of the Coulee Region RSVP will receive $10,000 to fund the Handyman and Senior Share services.

The Good Fight Community Center will receive a $2,500 grant for purchasing computers and equipment for its fitness and education program for at-risk youth.

Grow La Crosse Inc.

Horsesense for Special Riders will receive $5,000 in matching funds for its fall 2017 RideaAaThon fundraiser.

La Crosse Association for Home and Community Education received its sixth award of $3,000 to purchase books for use in the HeadaStart Bookworms program.

La Crosse Symphony Society was awarded $5,000 for the PlayaItaForward program which donates refurbished musical instruments to the Boys & Girls Clubs.

Riverfront was granted $5,000 to support its third Miss Remarkable Pageant, being held July 29.

WAFER Food Pantry will receive a grant of $20,000, which will be matched on a two for one basis by an anonymous donor, for use in purchasing and equipping a mobile food pantry.

The Catholic Diocese of La Crosse and Mayo Clinic Health System received distributions of over $179,000, as designated by the Foundationas benefactor, Robert Franke.

Meticulon, a project of Autism Calgary Association in partnership with the federal government and the Sinneave Family Foundation, operates as a social enterprise that renders high-tech services provided by people with autism, leveraging their natural abilities at requiring attention to detail, repetition, and sequencing.
