HILLSDALE The Hillsdale Community Schools Board of Education approved the expenditure of $22,538 from the district’s building and site fund to replace the flooring in four classrooms over the Christmas break, during Monday night’s meeting.

Superintendent Shawn Vondra said the flooring in the four classrooms was simply worn out.

The replacement of the tile and carpet is an ongoing effort to replace the flooring in all four buildings as needed.

“There is always a need to update and replace flooring in the district annually,” Vondra told the board.

Those rooms which will receive new floor coverings include the band room at Davis Middle School, two rooms at the high school and one at the Bailey Early Childhood Center.

During the meeting the board also approved several personnel issues including the resignations of two long time employees. Kuhn has been with the school system for 23 years.

The board also approved several donations including $2,837.66 from the athletic boosters for the purchase of iPADs to be utilized by the coaching staff and players at the school. It will allow athletes and coaches to review game film.

The athletic boosters also donated $1,800 toward the purchase of a new ice machine for the athletic department.

Other donations included:

$5,000 from the Hillsdale County Community Foundation for the HHS Interact Club.
