Children & Families First Receives Funding from the Delaware Community Foundation | Delawareonline.com | The News Journal

Children & Families First (C&FF) has received funding from the Delaware Community Foundation Capital Grants Program.

The $2,500 grant will be used towards the purchase of a Citrix server. Children & Families First currently provides the majority of its services in the community – in clients’ homes, schools, child care centers, etc. – in order to effectively meet the complex needs of the persons we serve. The Citrix platform allows staff to remotely connect to applications from any location.

The Community Foundation for Southern Arizona (CFSA) is pleased to announce $442,000 in grant funding to 20 Southern Arizona nonprofit organizations including $50,000 for technical support to strengthen the nonprofit sector. >> View list of grantees

The Community Foundation is supporting effective nonprofits through grants and technical assistance in creating visible, positive impacts for populations most impacted by the economic crisis:

Victims of abuse and domestic violence - $100,000
Increasingly vulnerable populations - $100,000
Populations needing financial empowerment - $125,000
Nonprofits needing additional capacity and technical assistance - $117,000
Extensive community research and data provided by 176 nonprofits revealed these four impact areas for this years focus.

Information on a variety of nonprofits is also available to CFSA fund holders.

The Erie Community Foundation Receives $100M Gift to Benefit Local Charities

An anonymous donor has made a gift of historic proportions to the Erie community. The Erie Community Foundation has received a $100M gift that the donor designated to benefit 46 local and 5 out of town nonprofit organizations. This is the largest anonymous contribution to a community foundation in the nation.

Giving is the new black

Colorado has a vibrant entrepreneurial community. A group of entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, lawyers, and The Community Foundation Serving Boulder County have created the Entrepreneurs Foundation of Colorado to work with local entrepreneurs to help endow Colorado.

Community Foundation awarded $2M grant

The Oak Park-River Forest Community Foundation-a 50-year-old charitable organization that provides grants to organizations like the Animal Care League and West Suburban PADS-is taking a big step into the future.

The foundation is receiving a $2 million grant from the Grand Victoria Foundation (a 12-year-old program run by the Grand Victoria Casino in Elgin). In addition, if the foundation can raise $2 million, Grand Victoria will match it, bringing the foundation's total to $6 million.

Wells Fargo Foundation Provides $250,000 Grant to Empower Hispanic Chambers of Commerce

Representatives from the Wells Fargo Foundation announced Thursday, September 25, a new grant for $250,000 to the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation (USHCC Foundation) to continue efforts to build the capacity of Hispanic Chambers of Commerce. The new grant will build on activities started in 2007 by the USHCC Foundation. Those previous activities were funded by a grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation to identify the needs of local and regional Hispanic Chambers of Commerce. The announcement was made during the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s 29th Annual National Convention and Business Expo.

Edmond, OK groups receive grants

The Oklahoma City Community Foundation Board of Trustees recently approved $132,044 in community program grants to 24 metropolitan area charitable organizations, including some Edmond facilities.

“We are fortunate to have loyal donors who consistently support our charitable organizations,” said Nancy B. Anthony, executive director. “Their generosity enables us to provide growth and assistance to numerous organizations in the community.”
