The Nebraska Community Foundation, headquartered in Lincoln, Neb., serves communities, organizations and donors throughout the state. NCF provides financial management, strategic development, education and training to its network of more than 1,800 leaders of 199 local affiliated funds.
NCF has reinvested $76 million in Nebraska and its hometowns since its founding in 1993. NCF is heralded as a national model for rural development philanthropy, which uses charitable giving as a tool for revitalizing rural economies.

There are no doubt some in the surrounding suburbs would prefer to keep it that way for Golden Briar and its low-income residents – out of sight, out of mind, out of their big backyards.

Adobe Systems Inc. on Wednesday announced the Adobe Foundation, a global philanthropic organization focused on "driving positive social change and community improvement."
San Jose-based Adobe (NASDAQ:ADBE) has historically allocated one percent of its annual net income to philanthropic giving, managed through a donor-advised fund at the Silicon Valley Community Foundation.

The water and sandbags may be gone, but many residents are still feeling the effects of the 8-foot high floodwaters that devastated River Forest a month ago.
Village Administrator Steve Gutierrez last week called for flood-relief contributions to help those who are still without basic necessities. He said some residents still are unable to take hot showers or cook meals.
Promising the suburb's full recovery, Gutierrez announced creation of a special fund in cooperation with the Oak Park-River Forest Community Foundation to help village residents hardest hit by the record rainfall.

The Community Foundation for Northeast Georgia, The IMPACT! Group, The Brand Banking Company and a network of local builders are partnering to provide down payment assistance for consumers who buy a home in Northeast Georgia.
Tough economic times and the recent turmoil in the mortgage market have made it harder to secure mortgage loans. For buyers without funds for a down payment, the dream of home ownership has become even more elusive.

Leadership Long Beach, a nonprofit organization that initiates programs to improve the quality of life in the city, has agreed to pay Gazette Newspapers several thousand dollars for two pages of North Long Beach news articles. The agreement covers the purchase of the pages twice a month for a year beginning in about two weeks. A Gazette spokesperson said that typically in a yearlong contract, the two pages would cost $1240 each time they run.

Representatives from the Wells Fargo Foundation announced Thursday, September 25, a new grant for $250,000 to the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation (USHCC Foundation) to continue efforts to build the capacity of Hispanic Chambers of Commerce. The new grant will build on activities started in 2007 by the USHCC Foundation. Those previous activities were funded by a grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation to identify the needs of local and regional Hispanic Chambers of Commerce. The announcement was made during the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s 29th Annual National Convention and Business Expo.

While Old Bill’s organizers continue to tally community donations, members of valley character group Save Historic Jackson Hole, estimate their organization has already taken in more in private money than it received last year from Old Bill’s. SHJH was excluded from Old Bill’s 2008 for running what event organizer the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole said was a negative ad against another participating nonprofit, the Jackson Hole Community Housing Trust.
