Newton Community Foundation seeking grant applications

The Community Foundation is once again accepting grant applications for its 2008 grant cycle. Approximately $30,000 is expected to be available to selected Newton County applicants.

Grant proposals to the Newton Fund of The Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta are due by Oct. 20. All 501(c)3 nonprofits based in Newton County that serve county residents are invited to apply.

Oakfield Community Foundation accepts grant applications

Oakfield Community Foundation grant applications for fall are due on or before Oct. 15.

Oakfield School District staff, St. Lukes School staff, and community groups are invited to apply for a grant. The applications are available online and can be accessed through the following steps:

Silicon Valley Community Foundation will hold a Coastside request for proposal information session at Cabrillo Unified School District on September 24 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. The community foundation has identified a series of Requests for Proposals, or RFPs, that address five grantmaking strategies:

Kendrick Foundation Inc. announces fall grant cycle

The Kendrick Foundation Inc. has announced the start of its fall grant cycle for 2008. Earlier this year, the Kendrick Foundation awarded more than $1 million in its first grant cycle.

The Kendrick Foundation funds health and healthcare-related projects, and applicants must be nonprofit 501c3 organizations, public schools or governmental entities located in or serving Morgan County.

To mail items to the office, send them to the Community Foundation of Morgan County Inc. at 250 North Monroe Street, Mooresville, IN 46158.

St. Croix Valley Community Foundation offers music grants

The St. Croix Valley Community Foundation announced today that $30,000 in grants will be available to enhance music education in the region’s public and private schools.

Each year the Foundation awards grants to enhance the music education experience for K-12 students in the St. Croix Valley — Washington and Chisago counties in Minnesota and Pierce, Polk and St. Croix counties in Wisconsin.

Alliant Energy Foundation provides $5,000 flood assistance grant to the Janesville Performing Arts Center

MADISON, WI Thanks to $5,000 grant from the Alliant Energy Foundation, the Janesville Performing Arts Center will be able to offset a large portion of their flood damage repair cost and affiliated lost revenues. The dollars are coming from the Foundation’s Rebuilding Our Communities Grant Program. The program was established to provide unrestricted grants to help non-profit groups throughout Alliant Energy’s utility service territory with recovery from this summer’s flooding.

The Alliant Energy Foundation’s Rebuilding Our Communities Grant Program was created in response to the extensive flooding across Alliant Energy’s utility service territory in Wisconsin , Iowa and Minnesota . The Foundation has allocated $1 million for the program and non-profit groups can apply through October 1st for $5,000, $10,000, $15,000 or $20,000 unrestricted flood recovery grants. Funds are to be used to help non-profits resume or maintain operations.

Non-profit groups can request funds by submitting a brief application form explaining their need and the population they serve that was affected by the flooding. A determination of grant eligibility will be made within 14 days of submission.
