The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation is placing a new emphasis on providing grants to programs that offer support for servicemen and women. The foundation plans on offering grants totaling $2 million for programs supporting service members and their families. The Weinberg Foundation has a history of supporting military men and women because of their ability to strengthen their communities in ways that civilians are not. A panel has been established to help define specific needs and how to address those needs. While grants will be awarded nationally, preference will be given to programs in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Washington D.C.
