The Hudson Institute's Obesity Solutions Initiative has reported in one of its recent studies that the food and beverage companies with higher sales from their better-for-you (BFY) foods and beverages perform better financially.
Better-for-you products are those that include no, low and reduced-calorie items, such as flavored waters or diet sodas, as well as products that are generally perceived to be healthier, such as yogurts and whole-grain cereals.
