Modernising Informal Retail in Emerging Markets to Deliver Social Impact

Algy Williams, CEO, and Lieze Langford, International Communication Manager, Every1Mobile, writes how using technology is modernising informal retail to make social impact.
Williams explains that modernising informal retail is key to having access to economic welfare for the low-middle income populations, improving the lives of the retailers, their families, and the communities in which they work.
Williams notes that Every1Mobile has developed a scalable digital supply and demand platform, the E1M Informal Retailer Platform, which helps build businesses and earning potential of low-income informal retailers, deliver health outcomes to their customers, and increase sales and brand loyalty through the mobile phones they are using.
Every1Mobile will lead a Connection lunch at the Business Fights Poverty Oxford 2019 on creating digital solutions for social change. Every1Mobile is a TRANSFORM-incubated and public-private partnership between Unilever and the UK's Department for International Development (DFID) and The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF).
