The amount of money non-profits in Berrien County, Mich., can get from a community foundation has been raised for the first time in years.
The Berrien Community Foundation has increased the amount of its For Good Grants from $10,000 to $15,000, the Detroit Free Press reports.
"As our assets have grown, it was decided upping the For Good Grants was the best way to serve the community," a BCF board member says.
The foundation has also increased the amount of its For Good Minor Grants from $1,000 to $1,500.
The grants are for non-profits to support programming.
Free community concerts, summer camp scholarships, and teaching parenting classes are just a few of the ideas they've funded in recent years.
The deadline to apply for a For Good Grant in the current cycle is September 30.
