Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Industries is teaming up with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to help empower a million women in India over the next three years, the Times of India reports.
"The alignment between this vision and the partnership's objectives is striking, focusing on the shared commitment towards uplifting women across the nation," says Bill Gates in a statement.
"I think our partnership can help make that happen."
The partnership will focus on women's self-help groups, which "serve as platforms for women to harness their innate capabilities and ambitions, thus enabling them to realize their full potential," Gates says, per the Times.
"I believe there is no problem too big for the innovators of India and the world," the Microsoft founder adds.
