The Lenawee Community Foundation board chairman David Hickman said that they are pleased to be the motivating force behind the AJ Smith Recreation Center.
Using money from the Ruth V. and Ruth Anne Thompson Trust Funds, the work is scheduled to be completed in early 2013. The plan shows the building with two multi-use indoor sports activity courts, offices for the parks and recreation department, rental space for family gatherings and a common area space.
