Amanda Pedro, a senior nursing major at the University of Saint Francis, has been commended for her active role in raising funds to build the first permanent residential home for orphans at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Orphanage in Haiti.
Pedro has been named a Newman Civic Fellow by Campus Compact. She also became a Formula for Life leader upon her return to the University.
