Fremont Area Community Foundation (MI)
The Fremont Area Community Foundation serves the Newaygo County, Michigan area. The Foundation is one of the largest community foundations in the nation on a per capita basis, serving a population of 50,000 and with 2007 yearend net assets of $218 million. In 2007, the Foundation made grants of $10.6 million to benefit the Newaygo County area.
Co-founders William Mann and David Mravyan devised the Sensimat during a mandatory project for their MBA at the Richard Ivey School of Business in Canada. Sensimat is a device that helps manage and assess pressure among wheelchair users.
