The Oklahoma City Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity that serves as the conduit through which donors can build endowments that support charitable causes. The foundation was established in 1969 through the leadership of oilman and philanthropist John E. Kirkpatrick along with eight fellow community leaders. Since that time, its impact on the community has been built on the generosity of thousands of donors who have come to the foundation as the avenue through which they can accomplish their charitable goals.
Florence Norman founded Sweet Cavanagh, an award-winning peer-led aftercare social enterprise based in Notting Hill. The company hires women and trains them how to make and design jewelry. However, these women are in the process of recovering from eating disorders and addictions.
