In February 2013, the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida Foundation changed its name to Florida Blue Foundation.

The mission of the Foundation is to improve the health and well-being of Floridians and their communities.

The Foundation strategically allocates grants toward philanthropic, community-based solutions through its five focus areas of improving: Access to Health Care, Consumer Health, Quality and Safety of Patient Care, Build Healthy, Strong Communities, and Health Care System.
