A California health care company has donated $5 million to make it easier for teachers in Monterey County to pay for health care, KION reports.
The Montage Health Teacher Health Fund will provide $1,000 grants to full-time teachers and $500 to part-time teachers.
"What better way to put dollars in the pockets of 5,000 teachers private and public school related in Monterey County," Matt Morgan, Montage Health's chief financial officer, tells the station.
The Community Foundation for Monterey County will manage the funds.
Morgan says the money will be available by the end of the school year.
