Seven area animal organizations have been awarded $32,000 in grants by the Lubbock Area Foundation.
Area animal shelters can start moving forward with the funding. The grants will be used in various ways in which each organization considers fit. For instance, one of the recipients is Lynn County Animal Shelter, which caught fire last January. They will use the grants to improve animal care and purchase new medical supplies.
