The Florida Division of Emergency Management presented $430,000 to 43 families who had been affected by the tornadoes in the state. Approximately $1.1 million was raised by Floridians in less than a single month.

Those funds received via the portal are in addition to the $7.4 million in grants and loans made available by the Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) through the Community Service Block Grant (CSBG) and the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).
Lee County has earned an extra $300,000 in Community Services Block Grant cash to address unmet needs in the community. Homes that have been damaged as a result of the tornadoes that struck on January 16 are advised to contact their local SHIP office for help. Additional recovery resources for people of both counties may be found on the internet as well.
