The Community Foundation of Greater Memphis has awarded a $1 million grant to the Hospitality Hub to further its mission. Mr. Michael Turner Sr. had been homeless for five years before receiving assistance from the organization. Prior to losing his way, he spent several years working for a uniform rental firm as well as for a linen supply company. He currently owns a two-bedroom, two-bathroom house that he has lived in for three months. Even while women account for 37 percent of the homeless population, just 6 percent of the available beds are designated for them.

The charity already maintains a mini-hotel that provides accommodations for 24 women and their children each night. After the new shelter is completed, they will continue their outreach to women in the building on their main campus until the new shelter is completed. As of March 2020, more than 130 women have benefited from the program, which began in March of that year. The organizers hope that this resource will assist to improve the lives of even more Memphis residents. The organization's hub studios, which serves as a non-congregate refuge for persons who are alone and in need of support, is now housed on the site.
