Heinz Endowments Will Install Next President in April

Ronn Richard, president and CEO of the Cleveland Foundation, is stepping down at the end of the year, he announced yesterday.

The reason? He wants to spend more time with his family, he tells the Washington Post.

"It's time for me to move on and spend more time with my children," he says.

The foundation was founded by his late wife, Harriet Karr-McDonald, who died in 2021, and Richard had been president and CEO for two years.

Meanwhile, the Chronicle of Higher Education has a list of some of the new hires at some of the nation's biggest nonprofits: Heinz Endowments Chris DeCardy will become president of the $2.1 billion foundation in April.

He is currently a nonprofit consultant in Menlo Park, Calif., and previously served as vice president and director of programs at the David and Lucile Packard Foundation.
