The NEC Foundation of America has announced its 2023 grant recipients, and they're all in the Dallas-area.
The foundation, which was created by the NEC Corporation of America in 1991, is dedicating more than $500,000 to area schools and non-profit programs, the Dallas Morning News reports.
Among the recipients: Herbert Marcus Elementary School, which will use the money to buy new book vending machines and a student home library program; the Young Women's Preparatory Network, which will use the money to provide students with "hands-on learning experiences, access to cutting-edge tools, relevant internships and mentoring and highly trained teachers"; and the FC Dallas Foundation, which will use the money to fund a STEAM FC educational field trip program.
"Our 2023 grant recipients exemplify the immense dedication it takes to keep our communities thriving," Ken Wilson, VP of the foundation, says in a statement.
"We're proud of the work they've done, and we look forward to supporting the continuation of that work through the foundation this year."
