Those with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) might want to check out a new app from a company called Casa de Sante: Sante is "a virtual gut health platform" that offers "gut-friendly low FODMAP certified products, personalized meal plans, GI lab tests, gut health apps, and resources," the company says in a press release.
The app, which can be downloaded here, was developed in collaboration with Peter Marino, a health coach and personal trainer who suffers from IBS.
"As a personal trainer and health coach for 30 years, who suffers from IBS, I'm excited to share my fitness experience with those who also suffer from IBS, through Casa de Sante Fitness app," says Marino in the press release.
The app offers fitness plans tailored to each user's unique health goals, as well as nutritional tracking to keep a close eye on food intake and identify potential dietary triggers.
The low FODMAPs in question, which are naturally found in wheat, barley, and rye, can wreak havoc on the small intestines of people with IBS, according to the press release.
So far, the app hasn't been tested on humans, but the company says it plans to do so in the future.
