The Stanly County Community Foundation recently awarded more than $54,000 in grants to 19 nonprofits.
The grants will support projects and programs that address investment areas of education, health, housing, and human services in Stanly County, North Carolina, the Charlotte Observer reports.
"These organizations work tirelessly for the betterment of Stanly County, and we are grateful for the opportunity to support their missions," says Roger Dick, chairman of the Foundation's Board of Advisors.
One of the recipients, Safer Communities Ministry, works with ex-offenders, addicts, and their families.
Their mission is to come alongside those who are struggling and help reintegrate them back into society.
