Flint, Mich., has been in the news for months over its lead-tainted water crisis, and now the city has a new problem to add to the list.

The Community Foundation of Greater Flint has announced that it will donate $1 million to help the city replace lead service lines in local homes and businesses, MLive.com reports.

The money will be used to replace lines that were replaced in 2014 after lead from old service lines was found to have leached into the city's water supply.

Flint Mayor Karen Weaver said in a statement that the donation is an example of how the community is coming together to solve the city's problems.

Mark Miller, who was appointed interim president and CEO of CFGF in June, tells Flintside that he's "a true Flint boy."

"My wife of 34 years, Rebecca, was born in Flint and we have been members of Grace Emmanuel Church for over 35 years," he says.

"I have served on the Community Foundation's Board of Trustees for over nine years and have a good understanding of the organization from a governance, cultural, and strategic perspective."
