Apple CEO Tim Cook is taking a stand against climate change, and he's calling on other CEOs to do the same.
"Climate change is real, and it's already happening," Cook said at the World Business Summit in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on Tuesday, per the Guardian.
"We need to act now to prevent the worst effects of climate change."
Cook, who spoke at the summit's kick-off event, said he was "horrified" by the news that humans are causing climate change by burning fossil fuels.
"If we want to prevent the worst effects of climate change, we need to act now," he said, per the BBC.
"I'm calling on the CEOs of the world's biggest companies to do the same."
Apple isn't the only company taking a stand against climate change.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg also spoke at the summit, calling climate change "one of the most important issues of our time" and urging other CEOs to do the same, per the Guardian.
Facebook, for its part, says it's investing $10 billion in green initiatives over the next five years, including $1 billion in clean-energy projects in the US.
