Those are the words of Nebraska teenecca Koenig, who's written a column for the McCook Daily Gazette about her experience as a member of the Nebraska Community Foundation's Young Leader program.
The foundation, which trains high school students in community service, gave Koenig "one of the greatest gifts I will ever receive by simply being there, showing support, and providing leadership to all of us," she writes.
"Adults just need to take the time to stop and listen to the young people in their community because we have something to say and something to contribute," she continues.

The foundation "has given me one of the greatest gifts I will ever receive by simply being there, showing support, and providing leadership to all of us," she continues.
"I want to keep watching the community flourish and grow, and more importantly, I want to be a part of it.
