Cedartown's Peek Forest Park now has a playground that looks a lot like an ambulance, thanks to a $250,000 grant from the Atrium Health Floyd-Polk Foundation.
The foundation is the supporting agency for grants distributed through Atrium Health Floyd-Polk Medical Center, which is part of the Advocate Health system, reports the Cedartown Standard.
The playground opened to the public Saturday, complete with a play structure designed to look like an Atrium Health Floyd ambulance, per a press release.
"This is an exciting day for myself, for our Foundation and for Atrium-Health Floyd-Polk Foundation, through whom these funds are granted, and this community," said Mary Helen Heaner, chair of the foundation.
"Having a safe place for children to play and families to spend time together is important to our physical and mental health.
It is incredibly gratifying to know this playground will directly benefit the health of this community."
