Foundation seeking grant applications from HPSD staff

The Hattiesburg Public School District Foundation will begin accepting applications for classroom enrichment grants Monday for district faculty and staff.

The grants will be awarded in four areas: STEM-related, literacy, high school graduation and staff development programming.

The foundation plans to award up to four grants in each category for a maximum of $500 each.

The grants are primarily designed for classroom enrichment efforts.

William D. Eggers and Paul Macmillan of Dowser write about the social entrepreneurs slowly and steadily dirsupting the world of philanthropy. According to Forbes, philanthropy disruptors are those that believe “no one company is so vital that it can’t be replaced and no single business model too perfect to upend.”
