Weinberg Foundation Set to Launch Annual Book Drive Benefitting Baltimore Library Project

BALTIMORE, Feb. 29, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, one of the largest private foundations in the United States, tomorrow will launch its 5th annual community-wide Book Drive in support of the Baltimore Elementary and Middle School Library Project.

Just $7 will buy a brand new, hardcover book for one of the Baltimore City Public Schools libraries that will be renovated this year as part of the Library Project.

Book collection bins will also be available at select Baltimore businesses, organizations, and schools.

Weinberg Foundation“>The Weinberg Foundation has committed $10 million to build or transform up to 24 Baltimore City Public Schools libraries in an effort to strengthen academic achievement among students.

The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation, one of the largest private charitable foundations in the United States, provides approximately $100 million in annual grants to nonprofits that provide direct services to low-income and vulnerable individuals and families, primarily in the US and Israel. Grants are focused on meeting basic needs and enhancing an individual’s ability to meet those needs with emphasis on older adults, the Jewish community, and our hometown communities of Maryland, Northeastern Pennsylvania, and Hawaii.
