The House of the Good Shepherd partners with Boys and Girls Club – News – Uticaod – Utica, NY The House of the Good Shepherd partners with Boys and Girls Club The House of the Good Shepherd has entered into a 12-month managed service agreement with the Boys and Girls Club of Utica that will ensure continued services for young people in the community, according to a news release.The partnership was facilitated by The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties.The mission of the Boys and Girls Club closely aligns with the mission of The House, which is to change children’s lives by enabling all young people, especially those most in need, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens, according to Good Shepherd officials.Bob Roberts, chief executive officer at The House of the Good Shepherd, welcomes the opportunity for the two organizations to partner for the betterment of the children in our community. With the support of The Community Foundation and a group of passionate advocates, we are determined to succeed,” he said.The Boys and Girls Club provides afterschool services such as tutoring and literacy programs. The two organizations will determine the best long-term affiliation in the next 12 months.The House of the Good Shepherd is a regional provider of treatment services for 750 traumatized children and families annually.



Three social enterprises were recognized at the 2013 President’s Challenge Social Enterprise Award for their major contributions to society. SATA CommHealth and Bliss Restaurant landed Social Enterprise of the Year titles, while Bettr Barista Coffee Academy bagged the award for Social Enterprise Start-up of the Year.
