Maynard Cultural Council to honor grant recipients – News – The Beacon-Villager – Maynard, MA Maynard Cultural Council to honor grant recipients The Maynard Cultural Council will present Fanfare for the Arts, an open party to celebrate the recipients of its 2016 grants, from 7 to 9 p.m. Their support for the arts is critical in securing funding each year for local cultural councils in Massachusetts, including Maynard.The council invites all supporters of the arts, mavens of culture, enthusiasts of all things expressive and more to help them toast and applaud the recipients of this year’s grants. Proper and/or inspired dress is encouraged and will be rewarded.Recipients of the Maynard Cultural Council’s 2016 grants include: Maynard Community Band, Concerts in Memorial Park; Maynard Public Library, Free Summer Concert in Memorial Park; Henry Lappen, Henry the Juggler at the Boys and Girls Club, Maynard; Robert Creeley Foundation, annual award activities, Acton; Richard W. Clark, “Atticus,” a dramatization of “To Kill a Mockingbird,” Maynard; OARS, eighth annual Wild and Scenic Film Festival, Maynard Fine Arts Theater; Ruth Harcovitz, Songs of World War II at Maynard Elks Lodge; John Root, A Celebration of Song at Maynard Senior Center; The Discovery Museum, “Especially for Me” program, Acton; smARTroom, public art project study grant, Maynard; Fruitlands Museum, “Family Fun” at Fruitlands, Harvard; Fitchburg Art Museum, 81st Regional Exhibition of Art and Craft, Fitchburg; The Umbrella Community Arts Center, “African Artistry: Exploring Diverse Cultures,” Concord.



UK will be celebrating its first national celebration of social enterprises dubbed as Social Saturday. World famous celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, who founded the Fifteen restaurant chain.
