It’s time to get fashionable.

The Savannah Friends of Music will host its annual Rhythm & Style Fashion Show on April 5 at the Plantation Club Ballroom at The Landings. “There has been a fashion show for over 60 years.”

In the past, fashion shows were presented both in the spring and fall.

“We just do one,” Davis says.

It’s not actually the fashions that bring in the money, though.

“The cost of the fashion show is very expensive,” Davis says. “The Savannah Music Festival is also giving us tickets.”

Jewelry also will be raffled.

“We’re really excited about it,” Davis says. “The whole point of the show is to raise money for Savannah Friends of Music.”

The SFOM also raises money through a series of parties set in members’ homes.

“Parties a la Carte is about to end for this year,” Davis says.

The annual Sheep to Shawl Festival will feature the shearing of Oatland’s sheep, Storm and Cloud, by members of The Fiber Guild of the Savannahs, along with live music and other activities.

The Women’s History Committee of Savannah will be hosting a mini symposium April 2 for the second annual Women’s History Weekend.
