Tomah seeks grant to expand Montessori School

TOMAH a A Montessori school could expand if the Tomah School District receives a federal grant.

The district is pursuing a $250,000 grant from the Department of Defense to expand its Montessori school.

aItas going to be impossible for us to expand the Montessori school unless we receive this grant,a Zahrte said.

The districtas proximity to military bases at Fort McCoy and Volk Field make it eligible for the grant.

Zahrte said a Montessori school is a ahuge drawa for military families who move frequently and want to keep their children enrolled in a Montessori school.

She said if the grant is approved, it would be at least two years before the school could accept fourth- and fifth-graders.
