Library nets $12K state grant – White Mountain Independent: Local News

SHOW LOW a Show Low Public Library was awarded $11,682 from the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records, a division of the Secretary of State.

This grant is a fraction of more than $800,000 awarded in Arizona for various library projects, made possible by federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

The libraries receiving awards this spring reflect the transformation taking place in libraries statewide.a

In addition, the Dollar General Literacy Foundation awarded the library a $3,000 grant to support summer literacy, one of three organizations in Arizona to receive the grant.

This grant award is a portion of over $7.1 million in grants awarded to more than 900 schools, nonprofits and organizations across the 43 states that Dollar General serves.



UK will be celebrating its first national celebration of social enterprises dubbed as Social Saturday. World famous celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, who founded the Fifteen restaurant chain.
