As a part of the new series reviewing the Rush County Community Foundationas adesignated endowmenta funds, weall be taking a weekly look at the Rush County nonprofit organizations that have funds that support their mission and work held at RCCF. This weekas installment focuses on the Rushville BPOE Lodge #1307.

Itas likely that even if you havenat been inside of the Rushville Elks Lodge, youare familiar with the building location a and more likely than not, youave parked in their parking lot on the corner of Second and Perkins streets in Rushville. The brown brick building formally known as the BPOE Rushville Lodge #1307 is home to an organization comprised of members passionate about our community.

The BPOE Rushville Lodge #1307 is a community-minded organization that focuses service on four main priorities: Clothe-A-Child, the American Cancer Society, scholarships, and Veterans. Outside of volunteerism, members gather as friends, brothers, and sisters at the Lodge for meetings and otherwise, for camaraderie.

The Rush County Community Foundation supports the BPOE Rushville Lodge #1307 via the Gilbert E. Joyce Fund, the Donald and Mary Gray Marshall Fund, and the Rushville Lodge 1307 BPOE Fund. Since the organizationas scholarship initiative is primarily supported via RCCF fund payouts, the Lodge and members can allocate more funds to the other three priority areas. Joyce Fund, the Donald and Mary Gray Marshall Fund, and the Rushville Lodge 1307 BPOE Fund will be released annually forever, assisting the BPOE Lodge with the impact they make within our community.
