That’s bad news for education writers. Dorton, formerly a Joplin High School teacher and more recently the vocational special services coordinator for the Franklin Technology Center, will begin her first school year as an assistant principal next month.
She will take over for Dan Hueller, who left the Joplin School District for Seneca schools, following former Joplin High School principal Brandon Eggleston. Some of the education-related organizations participating are Bright Futures Joplin, the Carl Junction Education Foundation and the Joplin Schools Foundation.
