Ravel shares examples digital deceptions, such as a fake Joe Biden website, bots amplifying false conspiracies about Kamala Harris's background, viral footage of Nancy Pelosi doctored to make her appear drunk, and more deepfake audios and videos in efforts to influence voters.
Ravel also lists various bills that, according to her, is the best chance at limiting the spread of disinformation. These include: Honest Ads Act, CONSENT Act, and Bot Disclosure and Accountability Act.
Ravel express that Congress must come together to pass laws that address the urgent threat that digital deception poses to the nation's democracy.
