A Minnesota school district is getting some extra credit for its students after a major donation from a retired teacher.
The Local Education & Activities Foundation for St.
Cloud Area School District 742 has given more than $3 million to support classroom programming since 1997, and this year's donation brings the total to more than $4 million, the St.
Cloud Times reports.
"We want the funds to go to support as many students as possible," the foundation's executive director tells KNSI.
"It shows the community the fact that educators have stayed connected with the school district," he says.
"And it helps, I think, build community support for our public schools."
