The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is expanding its partnership with the Danish government, aiming "to make a significant difference for some of the most climate-vulnerable developing countries," the Danish government says in a statement.

Specifically, the two will work to fight global health issues, including malaria, HIV, and tuberculosis, as well as help farmers adapt to climate change.

"I'm optimistic that together, we can make meaningful progress against these tough challenges," says Denmark's minister for development Cooperation and Global Climate Policy, Dan J ? 'rgensen.

"Denmark has played a vital role in the extraordinary gains the world has made in global health and development over the last 25 years," says Gates.

"For example, the founding support Denmark provided to Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, has helped deliver life-saving vaccines to more than 1 billion children," he adds.

"With this agreement, we will continue to partner to fight inequities in global health, including supporting global access to routine immunization," J ? 'rgensen says.

"We will also expand our collaboration to other critical areas, such as helping farmers adapt to climate change," he adds.

The Gates Foundation has already worked with the Danish government on a number of other issues, including fighting violence against women and girls, and
