GreenLaw Grant

Organization - GreenLaw
Grant Amount - $120,000
Foundation - Mott Foundation
Grant Purpose - The majority of Georgia's waterways are considered too polluted for fishing or swimming, and two pollution sources account for much of this pollution: direct discharges from wastewater treatment plants and polluted runoff from the state's many construction sites. The Clean Water Act includes provisions that address such pollution sources, and GreenLaw, a statewide group formerly known as the Georgia Center for Law in the Public Interest, will continue to work with citizen groups across the state to help implement these water quality programs. Activities will include promoting protective clean-up standards, monitoring water quality permits, and improving stormwater management practices.
