Grant Purpose - The Metropolitan Policy Program of the Brookings Institution has established itself as a leading center that examines the role of public policy, private sector initiatives, and market forces and demographic changes in shaping metropolitan growth patterns. Recently, this has included identifying ways that communities can attract and retain talented young people. This grant will support the engagement of young adults in Michigan through the Great Lakes Urban Exchange, a project designed to build a network of young leaders in cities across the Great Lakes who will engage and link other young professionals in promoting the attributes of these urban communities.
