Reuters: Clinton Foundation still not disclosing full picture of foreign-govt funding

May 10, 2015 5:00 pm Published by

Reuters’ Jonathan Allen took a look at the data on the website, and finds the Clinton Foundation still has trouble telling the truth:

The Clinton Foundation has acknowledged that the government funding totals omitted from their tax returns cannot be found on their website either, despite the foundation’s acting chief executive officer earlier suggesting they were available there.

The foreign government funding received by the globe-spanning charities of Hillary Clinton’s family has received particular scrutiny in recent weeks as Clinton seeks to become the Democratic nominee in the 2016 presidential election.

The foundation’s acknowledgement means precise totals for government grants to the charity for the last three years of Clinton’s four-year tenure as secretary of state have still not been publicly disclosed.

Fighting Poverty Amid Bay Area Prosperity | Re/code

Drew Alitzer

Tipping Point Community founder Daniel Lurie speaking at an April 2015 fundraising event that raised an unprecedented $14 million to fight poverty in the Bay Area.

Twenty of the world’s most influential businesses, many of which are headquartered in San Francisco or Silicon Valley, rose to the challenge and we got to work.

One of the most exciting things to emerge from SF Gives is a playbook to guide companies in their giving. For example, if local tech companies pledge 1 percent of revenue, commit to giving 20 percent of donations in the form of cash, and focus 30 percent of their giving locally, together they would generate a $341 million increase to Bay Area charities. That’s roughly seven times San Francisco’s commitment to affordable housing or double its budget to address homelessness, quadruple the San Francisco food bank’s budget, and twice the San Francisco public school budget.

Right now, our community has the resources, the networks, and the drive to supersize our poverty-fighting efforts and we should.
